A story in Wednesday's Gazette attributed statements at a public hearing to the wrong speakers.

A story in Wednesday's Gazette attributed statements at a public hearing to the wrong speakers.

It was Janice Roulstone who said a realtor had visited her home in Oakmont and predicted its value would decline if a proposed adjoining development were allowed to proceed.

It was Doug Rosentreter who told the meeting: “I don't think we would be nearly as upset about this if it was matching lots, if there were seven homes instead of 10. That would leave us a little less concerned about the value of our properties.”

It was also Rosentreter who told the meeting that the value of his house purchased five years ago had already dropped $125,000 in value because of nearby development at 100 Orchard Court.

As well, the story referred to traffic entering Oakmont along Bellerose Drive when it should have said Orchard Court.

The Gazette regrets the errors.

Wednesday’s School Notes said that former Soviet Union president Mikhail Gorbachev was scheduled to speak at We Day in Calgary. Gorbachev was ill and unable to speak at the event. The Gazette apologizes for the mix-up.
