The deaths of four St. Albertans were reported over the weekend, bringing the total lives lost in the city to the virus to 32 since the pandemic began.
New COVID-19 data released by the province showed another 29 cases diagnosed over the weekend in the city, bringing the total cases since the pandemic began up to 1,901 on Monday.
Another 27 people recovered from the virus in the same time frame.
In Sturgeon County, there are currently 20 active cases with 541 people having recovered from the virus since the pandemic began.
Morinville has another two reported deaths from the virus, bringing the total deaths up to 10.
One death is linked to the outbreak at the Aspen House in Morinville, where a man in his 70s died on Jan. 23. The town currently has 21 active cases with 323 people having recovered since the pandemic began.
On Monday, the province reported 326 new cases of COVID-19 with 7,200 tests done, resulting in a positivity rate of five per cent.
There are currently 259 schools on active alert and nine that have outbreaks, which account for 11 per cent of schools in the province with a combined total of 500 cases. There has been in-school transmission in 51 schools, with 39 of them having one cases as a result.
There are currently 637 people in the hospital, with 113 in the ICU.
Twenty-five more deaths were reported to Alberta Health in the past 24 hours.
Alberta Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said while numbers are coming down, hospitalizations remain high, as they are a lagging indicator of COVID-19. On average, Albertans hospitalized with COVID-19 will stay in the hospital for 12 days.
Hinshaw said until hospitalizations come down like other COVID-19 numbers, the province will have to keep current restrictions in place.
