Hit and run collision with pedestrian

On Monday, May 28, between 8 and 8:30 a.m., a 15-year-old female resident of St. Albert was struck in the thigh by an orange Jeep Rubicon vehicle while she was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk. The collision occurred at the intersection of Fairview Boulevard and Sir Winston Churchill Ave., by the Shell service station. The female driver of the Jeep Rubicon was in the process of turning at the intersection when the collision occurred. She stopped the vehicle, made eye contact with the 15-year-old girl and then completed her turn.

The 15-year-old girl sustained bruising on her thigh, but no more serious injuries. The driver of the Jeep did not check on the girl and drove away from the scene.
