The family of Const. David Wynn will be saying their last goodbyes tonight.

"Today is the day we say goodbye to Dave," said Shelly MacInnis-Wynn, wife of Const. David Wynn, at a press conference Monday afternoon.

Wynn was one of two officers seriously injured during a shooting at Apex Casino on Saturday.

Wynn was shot in the head. He has not regained consciousness since.

MacInnis-Wynn was surrounded by family, including her uncle Duncan MacInnis and Wynn's sister Dawn Sephton, as she made the announcement.

She thanked everyone for their support, including family, friends and the paramedic community in Bridgewater, N.S.

"There is one more place I have to really thank. That is everybody at the St. Albert detachment. They've been our family," said MacInnis-Wynn.

Wynn joined the RCMP in 2009. Previous to that he worked as a paramedic in Bridgewater, N.S. He has worked as a school resource officer at Keenooshayo School for the past five years.
