A number of new businesses on the trail are expected to open their doors to customers in the spring of 2014.
Curtis Friesen, associate with Avison Young said 525 St. Albert Trail will be an exciting new site for local shoppers. The 4.71 acres site – located south of Riverside Honda – will house a GoodLife Fitness and Visions Electronics store. But there are also several small retailers moving in, such as a Solo Liquor store, Little Caesars Pizza, The Chopped Leaf – a sandwich, salad and wrap chain – and K’s Nails salon.
“It’s going to be a great centre. We are actually very, very excited to be filling in one of the last undeveloped pieces of the trail,” Friesen said. “Especially kind of central on St. Albert Trail where there is obviously still a lot of action and activity there.”
Friesen added that they were in the process of contracting space to a fitness and supplement group that would make a fitting tenant to the GoodLife Fitness, as well as another quick serve restaurant.
The centre will also house the second location of a large, pub-themed eatery based out of downtown Edmonton. While he could not mention the name of the restaurant, Friesen said it was a place to “go for your wings and appetizers and your drinks and to go watch a game.”
“St. Albert seems to have an affinity for new brands of restaurants,” Friesen said. “Pairing that with a fantastic electronics retailer as well as GoodLife Fitness and a couple of brands that support that, we are feeling very positive to see it open up.”
The first tenants are expected to take possession in February, he added. At this point, Friesen said all lots have sold except for 2100 square feet left in one building.
The site also features three entrance points, one on St. Albert Trail and two on Inglewood Drive. Friesen added that customers will be able to take advantage of ample parking opportunities, which he said can be difficult to find on St. Albert Trail.
