Several reports of houses being pelleted with eggs at night have RCMP concerned.

The sides of two houses in Kingswood and one house in Akinsdale were egged on Aug. 4 and Aug. 12 respectively.

There are probably more incidents of mischief like this that haven’t been reported, said Cpl. Laurel Kading with St. Albert RCMP.

Reports of houses egged in the Lacombe Park neighbourhood were posted to the Community of St. Albert Facebook page Wednesday.

“Egging isn’t simply a prank, it can actually cause damage to paint and it’s very difficult to get off homes,” said Kading.

RCMP issued a reminder to parents at the beginning of August to keep their teens occupied over the summer holidays. At the time they were investigating a report that a group of youth egged a house in Erin Ridge in the middle of the night, then repeatedly rang the doorbell and ran away.

Some of the teens were also involved in a physical altercation with the homeowner. No parties were charged.

“Think before you do things,” said Kading, adding that what you might think is a harmless prank makes “people feel very vulnerable.”
