Logan Hunter "enjoyed everything about life"

Logan Hunter

On Tuesday Logan Hunter was remembered as a fine young man with great sense of humour and quick wit.

Hunter was painted as a charismatic man who was full of an endless supply of love.

Geoff Giacobbo, his friend, teacher and coach, remembered him as a player who loved scoring goals and wasn’t fond of playing defence. Hunter had a knack for all sports and excelled at hockey, golf and basketball.

Hunter's father, Lawrence Hunter, said that as a child his son had a naturally inquisitive nature and a love for the outdoors.

“Not one day went by growing up that we as parents were not proud of this special boy,” Lawrence said.

Lawrence said that he loved to sit in the stands and watch his son play the game that he was so passionate about.

“I loved to watch Logan play the game he loved and I loved to cheer him on.”

In a letter written to Logan by his mom Shauna Nordstrom and read by Lisa Antunes, the mother said that she can still hear her son shooting pucks in the basement.

Nordstrom promised to take care of Hunter’s dog Charlie, lace up the skates next winter and to work on her fairway game in honour of her son.

“You didn’t want to go; this I know. I feel you around me,” Nordstrom said through Antunes.

Although Hunter was known for his skill on the ice, his friends and family remembered him as an outstanding man off the ice.

Lawrence credits the Broncos organization for helping to shape his son into a “gentleman and true sportsman.”

With a sense of humour beyond his years, Giacobbo said that Hunter was known for cracking jokes in school.

Hunter’s bond with his friends was close and he was able to connect with many people.

“When I think of Logan I don’t think of him as a friend, I think of him as a brother,” said friend Dylan Ganske. “Logan enjoyed everything about life. He loved his family and his friends.”

Marcus Walter, Hunter’s friend, said that the young man impacted so many people in a positive way by just being in the same room as them.

“Before I met you, I never met anybody as charismatic and funny as you are. If you asked anybody about Logan they would tell you that there was never a dull moment when he was around."
