A two-year-old girl has been pronounced dead after being found in a pond in Morinville's Lakes Subdivision this morning.
A media release from Morinville RCMP states that at 11:42 a.m. on July 25, 2015, police responded to a report of a missing two-year-old girl who had been playing at a park with her siblings.
Emergency responders initiated lifesaving efforts, but Emergency Medical Services personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
A message on Twitter from the STARS Air Ambulance service indicates a helicopter was dispatched to Morinville at 11:32 a.m.
Morinville RCMP and the Edmonton Medical Examiner's Office continue to investigate. RCMP will not be releasing any more details at this time.
