Gibbons – Morinville RCMP are looking for help identifying theft suspects who tried to ram a vehicle into two pharmacies in Gibbons and robbed one of them early Friday morning.
Officers responded at around 4:32 a.m. Friday morning to a break, enter and theft at the Gibbons Guardian Pharmacy. Suspects had used a stolen grey-coloured extended cab GMC Sierra pickup truck to smash through the front window of the pharmacy.
Once inside, masked suspects stole a quantity of prescription and non-prescription drugs.
Police say a number of suspects were involved. One appeared to have a long barrelled firearm, while another had an axe.
Once the crime was committed, the suspects drove across the street and attempted to gain entry into the Gibbons Remedy's RX pharmacy by ramming into that business as well.
They were unable to gain entry.
The stolen vehicle was later recovered in the Smoky Lake RCMP detachment area.
