RCMP have released new details about the suspect sought in a home invasion at a Lacombe Park home earlier this month.

On July 6 at approximately 4:30 a.m., St. Albert RCMP responded to a break-and-enter in progress on Lester Crescent.

Police say there were three adults and three teenagers asleep in the home when the homeowner was awakened by sounds of intruders. The homeowner confronted the intruders and a fight ensued.

The suspects had fled on foot by the time police arrived. The homeowner was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries sustained from the altercation. The homeowner was later released from hospital; no one else in the home was injured.

The RCMP service dog and handler attended the scene but were not able to locate the suspects.

Police have released a sketch of one of the suspects. They’ve asked the public to call if they recognize the man in the sketch or if they have any information relating to this event.

He is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • Late teens to early/mid-twenties
  • Approximately 6'2" tall
  • Over 200 lbs
  • Heavy build with chubby cheeks
  • Short brown hair

“RCMP do not believe this incident to be a random act, but investigators believe there are individuals who have important information regarding this investigation,” said Cpl. Andre Paradis of the general investigation unit.

“In these situations, we urge people not put themselves in danger. Call the police immediately,” added Cst. M-J Burroughs.

If you have any information about these or any other incidents, call the St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You do not need to reveal your identity.
