New lights coming to Bellerose at Evergreen Drive

A set of new lights along Bellerose Drive look to be part of the traffic changes coming to that area due to the developments at the corner of Boudreau Road and Bellerose Drive.

The changes will accommodate new traffic patterns generated by the Shops at Boudreau, a development going in on the southeast corner of Boudreau Road and Bellerose intersection, the old Hole’s Greenhouse property.

Part of the improvements includes traffic lights going in at Evergreen Drive and Bellerose.

There will be access improvements and some new medians around the development, said David Hales, the city’s general manager of planning and engineering.

“There’s going to be an additional right hand turn lane added on in that area,” Hales said, indicating the right-hand turn will take drivers northbound on Boudreau onto Bellerose.

The new lights shouldn’t have a big impact on traffic along Bellerose Drive, though, as that set and the set currently at Boudreau and Bellerose will be optimized for the new traffic patterns.

“They’d be adjusted to accommodate the different traffic flows from what had been there traditionally,” he said. The developer is in charge of the roadwork, he noted.

Also of note is the hiking trail closure around the site for the duration of construction.

“We’ll be diverting … the pedestrian traffic over to the west side of Boudreau. It’s all going to be well-signed,” Hales said. The trail traffic along Bellerose will be moved to the north side.
