One person is dead after a fatal collision north of Morinville on Monday.
Morinville RCMP were called after two vehicles collided on Highway 2 between Township Road 572 and secondary highway 651 around 11:10 a.m.
A southbound car had swerved into the other lane and hit a northbound semi-tractor. A third vehicle that was following the semi was hit by debris from the collision.
The lone driver of the southbound car died at the scene. No one else was injured. The identity of the deceased will not be released.
RCMP and emergency services had closed the highway in both directions for most of the day.
