Pedestrian killed in crosswalk

An 85-year-old woman died Monday morning after being hit by a car while crossing the street. Around 10 a.m. St. Albert RCMP were called to Boudreau Road in front of the Sturgeon Community Hospital.

PEDESTRIAN KILLED – An 85-year-old woman died Monday morning after being hit by a car while crossing the street on Boudreau Road across from the Sturgeon Community Hospital.

An 85-year-old woman died Monday morning after being hit by a car while crossing the street.

Around 10 a.m. St. Albert RCMP were called to Boudreau Road in front of the Sturgeon Community Hospital. An 85-year-old woman was crossing westbound in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Boudreau Road.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital in Edmonton and died at approximately 1 p.m.

The name of the deceased is not being released as next of kin are being notified.

The investigation is on going.
