St. Albert RCMP officers have released the sketch of a man they believe was responsible for robbing several teens at gunpoint.

The teens were robbed on Jan. 31, about 5:15 a.m., after stopping at the Lacombe Park reservoir on Larose Drive on their way home.

While the six teens were sitting in the parking lot another car pulled up behind them. According to the teens, two men got out of the vehicle and one fired a shot into the air.

Police say the man with the gun then pointed it at the face one of the teens and demanded his wallet. The teens were then ordered to walk away.

The three people then fled in what the victims described as a light-coloured four-door car.

Const. Janice Schoepp said police hope someone will recognize the man in the sketch.

“We believe it was the person who was carrying the firearm.”

Schoepp said they don’t know if the man is from the area, but are still hoping someone may recognize him.

The man in the sketch was wearing black clothes on the night in question. The other man who got out of the vehicle was wearing a toque and dark clothes and the driver was a woman with shoulder length dark hair.

All of the suspects are thought to be between 16 and 19. Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or the St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700.
