Armed cyclist robs bank
An armed cyclist robbed a St. Albert bank last week, then got away on a mountain bike.
RCMP were called to the CIBC bank on Hebert Road on April 2 shortly after 5 p.m. Bank staff said they were robbed by a single person wearing a black motorcycle helmet.
The robber entered the bank and demanded money from a teller. No weapon was seen but staff believed the robber had one. The person then left with an undisclosed amount of money, got on a mountain bike, and rode toward the Akinsdale neighbourhood area.
The suspect is described as between five feet and five-feet, four-inches in height with a thin build. The person was wearing a black jacket and beige pants. The black motorcycle helmet also had a dark visor, said Cpl. Laurel Kading with the St. Albert RCMP.
"I am calling it a suspect because we can't determine for sure at this time if it was a male or a female," she said.
CIBC staff had no comment.
