Morinville RCMP have called off the search for missing Sturgeon County woman Roxanne Wolf.

"She is no longer missing," Morinville RCMP Const. Yelena Avoine said on Thursday. "Out of respect for the family, we won't give any more detail."

Sgt. Josee Valiquette, media relations officer with RCMP K Division, confirmed it was a non-suspicious death, but could not provide any further details.

Wolf, 42, walked away from her Sturgeon Vista Estates residence near Township Road 555 and Range Road 240 around 3 p.m. on Monday. She took her cellphone and medications, but left her purse and vehicle at home.

Avoine said Wolf was "really upset" as a result of family issues when she left the home that afternoon. The last contact with Wolf occurred around 6 p.m. Monday via text message.

The family searched for Wolf that evening before her daughter contacted RCMP to report her missing at roughly 10 p.m.

A ground search conducted Tuesday by Morinville RCMP, an Edmonton search and rescue organization, an RCMP dog unit and a helicopter were unsuccessful in locating Wolf.

Avoine said the incident is under investigation by Morinville police. RCMP initially stated they did not suspect foul play.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Morinville RCMP at 780-939-4520 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
