An elderly woman was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital Wednesday afternoon after the electric scooter she was driving was struck by a car.
The woman was crossing Bellerose Drive between St. Albert Centre and Safeway shortly after 3 p.m. when she was hit by the car, which caused the scooter to roll onto its side.
The woman was transported to the Sturgeon Community Hospital by ground ambulance before being taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital via STARS Air Ambulance for treatment of head injuries.
