Senior on scooter hit by car

An elderly woman was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital Wednesday afternoon after the electric scooter she was driving was struck by a car. The woman was crossing Bellerose Drive between St. Albert Centre and Safeway shortly after 3 p.m.

UNDER INVESTIGATION – St. Albert RCMP are investigating a collision between a pedestrian riding a motorized scooter and a car at the intersection of Bellerose Drive and Inglewood Plaza late Wednesday afternoon. The driver of the scooter was transported to Sturgeon Community Hospital and then airlifted by STARS to Edmonton.

An elderly woman was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital Wednesday afternoon after the electric scooter she was driving was struck by a car.

The woman was crossing Bellerose Drive between St. Albert Centre and Safeway shortly after 3 p.m. when she was hit by the car, which caused the scooter to roll onto its side.

The woman was transported to the Sturgeon Community Hospital by ground ambulance before being taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital via STARS Air Ambulance for treatment of head injuries.
