Six alleged drug dealers have been arrested and charged by St. Albert RCMP since March.

The total amount of drugs seized in all four investigations is equal to 5,000 individual marijuana joints, 2,800 “hits” of cocaine and approximately 1,400 “hits” of methamphetamine.

“The RCMP's overriding goal is to ensure safe homes and safe communities for Canadians,” said Inspector Kevin Murray, the St. Albert detachment commander, in a release.

“We believe that marijuana use and the criminality that surrounds it harms individuals and communities.”

Following an investigation into trafficking marijuana on March 26, RCMP seized 17 grams of marijuana, $1,500 cash (believed to be proceeds of criminal activity) and a replica firearm hand gun.

St. Albert resident Jeydon Randall Stuart, 19, was charged with: possession of a narcotic, possession for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking a narcotic, possessing property obtained by crime and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Jason Richard Kukler, 31, of Edmonton, and Frederick Rodger Kukler, 36, of British Columbia were both charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a narcotic and possession of property obtained by crime.

Jason pleaded not guilty and a trial date is set for Nov. 24 in St. Albert court.

Frederick failed to appear for his court date and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The RCMP’s third investigation took place on May 30 at an Edmonton residence with the assistance of the RCMP canine unit.

They seized approximately five ounces of cocaine powder and crack cocaine and $18,000 in cash.

Edmonton resident Jean Leon Musoni, 25, and Christopher Karuranga, 26, of Regina, Sask. were both arrested.

They face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking a narcotic, possessing property obtained by crime and several breaches of recognizance related to previous charges from Edmonton and Regina.

Musoni is also charged with obstructing a peace officer.

They were both released on a substantial cash bail and will be appearing in St. Albert court on July 28.

The drug section’s fourth investigation took place on June 6. With the assistance of a police dog, it is alleged that more than five ounces of cocaine and crack cocaine were seized along with more than five ounces of methamphetamine, a quantity of oxycontin and another designer drug that has yet to be officially identified. They also found $310 in cash and a container of pepper spray.
