Pickleballers and tennis players will be able to hit some outdoor courts in St. Albert as of 8 a.m. May 16.

The city announced Thursday afternoon pickleball and tennis courts at Larose and Willoughby parks will reopen for public use. By May 23, all community courts are expected to be open.

Four pickleball courts at Larose Park, as well as two tennis courts, will be open on May 16. At Willoughby Park, all four tennis courts will be open.

"Public health orders remain in effect and we remind the community to maintain physical distancing and proper hygiene before, during and after using these amenities," the city stated in a media release Thursday.

The courts are only available for spontaneous, non-contact, unorganized sport. No washroom facilities will be open for public use, and any safety signage at the facility will need to be followed.
