St. Albert reports 29 new cases of COVID-19

Thirteen more St. Albertans have recovered.

More than 700 St. Albertans have contracted COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, accounting for just over one per cent of the city's population.

Twenty-nine more people tested positive in the last 24 hours, bringing the city's active cases to 255. In total, 701 St. Albertans have come down with the virus so far.

Thirteen more residents recovered in the last 24 hours.

On Friday, the province announced 1,227 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. In the last day, 16,200 tests were conducted, with 7.6 per cent of them coming back positive.

There are now 14,217 active cases in the province, with 403 people in the hospital and 86 in intensive care.

In the past 24 hours, nine deaths have been reported.

Sturgeon County currently has 98 active cases with 172 people having recovered so far. Morinville has been holding steady at 33 active cases for several days, with 87 people having recovered so far from the virus.
