The City of St. Albert announced Wednesday it will not be charging residents and businesses late fees on their utility bills until further notice.

"Customers are encouraged to keep their accounts in good standing. We urge residents to pay bills electronically," the city stated in a news release.

The city added pre-authorized payments, online banking and payments by mail are all acceptable forms of paying. At-the-counter payments are also available at St. Albert Place, although the city is encouraging everyone to practise social distancing in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.
