Evansburg RCMP were called to the provincial park’s campground on June 7 around 8 p.m. They found emergency medical services treating a woman with several cuts to her face. The assault followed fights between two large groups of people at a nearby beach, police said. The river is popular in the summer for tubing.

She is scheduled to appear in Evansburg provincial court on Sept. 14. Charges related to the incident are also pending against a man.
