A driver of a pick up truck has died after a collision after a collision with a grain truck near Morinville Saturday afternoon.
Morinville RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision involving a five ton grain truck and a pick up truck on Highway 44 just north of township road 564 in Sturgeon County around 12 p.m. on Dec. 6.
The driver of the southbound grain truck attempted to avoid the collision, but was unable to do so. As a result, the driver of the northbound pick up truck suffered serious life threatening injuries. His name is not being released by RCMP at this time.
The highway was re-opened in both directions around 3:40 p.m.
Morinville RCMP continue to investigate. Charges are not anticipated.
