UPDATED: Police investigate suspicious death

RCMP and Edmonton police are investigating the suspicious death of a 25-year old man. The man was found dead in the parking lot of Nevada Place on Monday around 10 p.m. He was shot in Edmonton.

A man was found dead in St. Albert last night. Edmonton Police homicide detectives are investigating a parking lot in Edmonton as the place where he may have been shot.

St. Albert RCMP and Edmonton Police Services are investigating the suspicious death of a 25-year old man. The man was found dead in the  parking lot of Nevada Place on Monday night. Nevada Place is a newer apartment complex on Giroux Road, in the North Ridge neighbourhood.

In a press release, Edmonton Police Services said shots were fired around 9 p.m. in a parking lot on the corner of 215 Street (Winterburn Road) and 115 Avenue in Edmonton, an industrial area on the western edge of Edmonton. This address is being investigated as the scene of the crime where the victim was shot.

Less than an hour later, the body of the man was discovered in the parking lot of Nevada Place. By car, it takes about 11 minutes to get from the parking lot in Edmonton to Nevada Place.

Homicide detectives are interviewing witnesses. No suspects were identified at this time. An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 8 at 9 a.m..
