The St. Albert Community Information & Volunteer Centre has many volunteer opportunities to choose from and can help find the right fit for you, even if you are not sure of what that might be. Do you have good communication skills; are you physically fit and able to do lots of walking and some lifting? If so, then help this St. Albert organization with its recycling program, Thursday mornings. This is a great opportunity to do individually or with a friend.

Work one-on-one with an adult to improve their reading, writing and math skills, as well as English as a second language for some clients. Hours are flexible to your schedule and program breaks for the summer months.

Be a friendly visitor to mentally and physically impaired residents in this nursing home. With your sensitive and caring manner, use the activity cart to interact with the residents and spend some quality one on one time with them. Your schedule should be flexible as each visit will vary according to the residents. Volunteers needed Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.

Do you have a passion for helping to improve the quality of life of seniors in the St. Albert area? This St. Albert organization is committed to the support of, and fellowship with, seniors in our community. Intergenerational board members, between the ages of 18 and 50, are needed to assist in setting the future of the organization by developing policy and strategic direction.

Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth — help a team of committed community members present this hard hitting and informative program to today's youth at the grade nine level; in-class sessions are half day on Wednesdays. The focus is to impact on youth the consequences of making bad choices and to prevent tragedy. If you are people oriented with good communication skills and an outgoing, welcoming personality, then this might be the position for you.

Do you have previous experience in public relations and marketing? Work with this local non-profit organization in developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies, as well as assisting with the development of print and social media. Flexible hours.

Are you friendly and do you enjoy people? Help various non-profit organizations in your community to fundraise, to meet their most worthwhile goals, by working a bingo shift. You’ll meet new people and feel good, at the same time, about helping these community organizations. Must be 18 years of age or older.
