The Dynamyx Gymnastics Club of St. Albert is rolling out the red carpet for the Artistic Gymnastics Provincial Championships/Trials to Canadians April 16 to 18 at Servus Credit Union Place. Levels range from P2 to P5, national and pre-Olympic.

Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday; 9:05 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Performance Arena.

Opening ceremonies are Friday at 5:15 p.m., followed by women’s national novice and open and high performance junior and senior; plus men’s high performance junior and senior.

Day tickets are $10 adult, $5 student/senior and $25 for a family of four. Meet passes are $20 adult and $40 for a family of four. Alberta Gymnastic Federation members receive $1 off tickets. Admission is free for children five years and under.

Representing the host Dynamyx club are Grace Zurawell in P2 argo, Mckenna Stevenson, Grace Sroka and Katie Carson in P2 novice, Carly McConaghie and Bailey Tate in P2 open, Shae-Lyn Fontaine and Jordan Fenton in P3 tyro, Danielle Fenton in P3 novice, Kasiana Croskery-Sasorith in P3 open and Madison Fontaine in P5 open.

Male competitors from Dynamyx include Graham Plomp in men’s high performance, along with Dylan Bokenfohr, Bryden Poier, Colin Green, Rykkar Jackson, Isaiah Wong, Korey Matte, Rylin Curial, Zach Farrell and Adrian Johnson.

Provincial qualifiers from the St. Albert Gymnastic Club are Robyn Gilmore in P2 argo, Renee Hall and Sara Holmes in P2 tyro, Reese Glawson and Alison Lenfesty in P2 open, Katia Hammond, Amelie Gautier and Aly Findling in P3 tyro, Shayla Sklaruk in P3 novice and Amanda Johnson, Ereinne Hall, Leah Brown, Emily Traquair and Katie Allen in P3 open.

Eight bantam AAA players with the St. Albert Sabres made the Alberta Cup roster for the Northwest Sharks at the April 21 to 25 tournament in Leduc.

They are goalie Mitchell Martell, defencemen Tyler Dea, Jeff Harrison and Jakob Lavoie and forwards Sebastien Auray, Taylor Fontaine, Luke Mahura and Jake Mykitiuk.

The head coach is Blair Becker of St. Albert.

The line-up for the Northeast Flyers includes Morinville defenceman Kyle McKinney and Legal forward Dylan Stang. Sabres’ bench boss Umberto Fiorillo is the Northeast head coach.

The Alberta Cup helps identify the top male bantam-aged players in the province as scouts prepare for the Western Hockey League’s bantam draft.
