The Tigers are coming off their first win of the season after five losses as Logan Blumhagen pitched six innings in the 12-0 decision against the previously undefeated Cubs (9-1) Friday in St. Albert. Evan Hoffman’s solo homer and Tylor Jans' three-run blast sparked the offence.
The 18U Cardinals are 15-5 in the Norwest league after sweeping the Red Deer Braves (7-8) in last weekend’s four-game Tier I division series in St. Albert by scores of 12-2, 9-2, 7-2 and 7-5.
Tonight at 7 p.m. the 2018 fourth-place finishers at nationals host the Sherwood Park A’s (8-11).
The junior Cardinals are the top Baseball Alberta 21U League team at 7-4 after winning Sunday’s 18-17 slugfest against the Edmonton Padres (5-5) at Footz Field.
Earlier in the day, the Cardinals lost 15-5 to the Community Park Reds (4-5).
