The St. Albert Impact Rangers are back in action in the on Thursday at the ESA #3 field in Edmonton. The Rangers have two wins, two losses and four ties this season and will take on Africana FC (2-5-1).

The Rangers have two wins, two losses and four ties this season and will take on Africana FC (2-5-1). In their last game, the Rangers beat AC Milan 1 (4-2-1) by a 2-1 score. After Thursday’s match, the Rangers will have two more games in which to try to move up the standings. They currently sit in sixth in the 12-team division.

The St. Albert Impact 1 squad in Division 1B continue their regular season schedule on Wednesday against AS Roma, who sit at the top of the table. The game is scheduled for the ESA #2 field at 6:30 p.m.

In Division 1A, the St. Albert impact 2 side will take on the basement-dwelling Fiji Santan Selects on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Riel 1 at the St. Albert Soccer Association grounds.

The St. Albert Tigers will be on the field Tuesday at Great Chief Park in Red Deer to take on the Riggers.

After seven games, the Tigers were 3-4 in the Sunburst League and had won two in a row. In the first meeting between the two clubs, the Riggers topped the Tigers 13-8 in St. Albert on June 4, but St. Albert responded with a 13-5 win on June 25, also in St. Albert. After Tuesday’s game, the Tigers will have just two regular season games remaining on July 15 and 16, a home-and-home series with the Fort Saskatchewan Athletics, before the playoffs begin.

In minor baseball action, the midget AAA St. Albert Cardinals are in Fort McMurray for a three-game set. The Red Birds have turned things around since the start of the year to get back to around the .500-mark, and have recently been given another boost with the return of third-year midget players Shane Zimmer and Taylor Simmonds from the Vauxhall Baseball Academy in southern Alberta.

The bantam AAA St. Albert Cardinals will play on Tuesday at Rundle Park in Edmonton against the SEEBA Cardinals. St. Albert is 9-2 and will be playing in their first game since June 27.

The peewee AAA St. Albert Cardinals are currently playing at a tournament in Kamloops, B.C. They played their first game Friday, but the score was not available at press time.

The Canada Day Classic Boys Soccer Tournament is under way and runs through Sunday.

The tournament, ranging from U-10, to U-16 tier I/U-18 tier II includes 41 teams and six St. Albert Impact teams. All games are scheduled for the St. Albert Soccer Association fields or the turf field on the north side of the rugby fields at Riel Park.

Both the bronze and gold medal games in the oldest age group (U-16 tier I/U-18 tier II) are at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
