Tier III/IV peewee Riders (1-2) vs. Millwoods Maulers (1-2), 3 p.m. Sunday at Millwoods.

Tier I/II bantam Fury (2-1) vs. Millwoods Grizzlies (3-0), 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Millwoods.

Tier III/IV bantam 49ers (0-3) vs. Leduc Ticats (2-1), 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Leduc.

Tier I/II atom Vikings (1-2) vs. Millwoods Grizzlies (1-2), 11 a.m. Sunday at Millwoods.

Tier III/IV atom Buccaneers (0-3) vs. Camrose Buffaloes (3-0), 11 a.m. Sunday at Camrose.

Tier III/IV atom Jaguars (0-3) vs. Leduc Bobcats (2-1), 11 a.m. Sunday at Leduc.

The puck drops Monday for the St. Albert Sabres in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League season opener against the PAC Saints. Game time is 7:15 p.m. at Grant Fuhr Arena.

Wednesday the Sabres host Fort Saskatchewan at 7:45 p.m. at Akinsdale Arena.

In exhibition play the Sabres won three and lost two.

Last season the Sabres posted a third-place 21-7-5 record in the nitro north standings. In the best-of-three opening playoff round, they were swept by the SSAC Southgate Lions (22-8-3).

Meanwhile, the annual John Reid Memorial Tournament goes Jan. 20 to 23 at Servus Credit Union Place.

The first volunteer rally for the 2011 World Financial Group Continental Cup of Curling is Tuesday night at Servus Credit Union Place.

The rally is for signed up volunteers only. It begins with an address from the director of volunteers, Aimee Branting, followed by the sizing of the uniforms and accreditation photos taken. Organizers will also be collecting the $100 volunteer fee.

The allocated time slots for groups according to their committees are 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Volunteers can pick up their uniform and accreditation Dec. 14 at the second volunteer rally.

The seventh annual Continental Cup runs Jan. 13 to 16 at Performance Arena. The Ryder Cup of curling will feature 12 of the top rinks in the world, with six representing Team World and six representing Team North America. Each team is made up of three men’s rinks and three women’s rinks. Team North America is comprised of two men’s and two women’s rinks from Canada and one men’s and one women’s rink from the United States.

Tickets go on sale in October.
