Raiders at home

The St. Albert Nektar Raiders have two home games remaining before the Mac’s Midget AAA World Invitational Tournament starts Dec. 27 for the defending champions.

Faceoff times are 8 p.m. Saturday against the Lethbridge Hurricanes (12-8-1) and 2:30 p.m. Sunday against the Calgary Flames (12-5-4) at Jarome Iginla Arena.

The ninth straight win and 13th in 14 games for the Raiders (17-1-2) in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League was 6-0 against the KC Pats (5-11-4) on Raiders Day in St. Albert on Saturday.

Ronin Pusch’s natural hat-trick in the opening 10 minutes and captain Mathieu Gautier’s four assists powered the Raiders to victory in the chippy affair at Go Auto Arena.

Pusch’s third goal, a power-play marker, was his seventh and 13th point in 20 games.

Maddux Nollski scored in the middle frame and Drew Kuzma capitalized twice on the power play in the third.

Tye Pedersen and Mark Hanson-Torwalt finished with two assists apiece.

Shots were 41-9 for the Raiders as Andreai Proctor-Ramirez (10-1-1) pitched his fourth shutout and the team’s fifth of the season.

Proctor-Ramirez (10-1-1, 1.00 GAA) leads the AMHL in wins, shutouts, GAA and save percentage (.956).

At the 25-team Mac’s tournament in Calgary, the Raiders are in pool four with the Calgary Royals, (9 a.m. Dec. 27 at Max Bell), Airdrie Bisons (11:45 a.m. Dec. 28 at Father David Bauer), Cariboo Cougars (8 p.m. Dec. 29 at Father David Bauer) and Moose Jaw Warriors (12:30 p.m. Dec. 30 at Flames Community Arena).
