The stars will shine Tuesday night when the St. Albert Curling Club celebrates its past and present with a special event.

Highlighting the grand opening of the facility’s newly refurbished front end is a presentation by the City of St. Albert to Olympic gold medallist Marc Kennedy and the unveiling of the club’s wall of fame. Kennedy, Scott Pfeifer, Don McKenzie, Cathy King, Jackie Rae Greening and the late Hec Gervais will be honoured for their national and international success in the sport.

Thanks to significant funding from the federal and provincial governments and the City of St. Albert, the club will now become a year-round facility. The new 240-seat capacity banquet facility is located upstairs in the Friendly Giant Lounge. Downstairs, in addition to new locker rooms for the curlers, there is a spacious kitchen and a meeting room that will be available to rent.

Tuesday’s ceremony starts at 7:30 p.m. For more info, contact club manager Jennifer McMillan at 780-459-7007.
