U15 baseball

The U15 AAA St. Albert Cardinals are up to bat this weekend at Legion Memorial Park.

The Cardinals host the Northwest Prairie Pirates and Edmonton Expos in a pair of doubleheaders to start off the Baseball Alberta season.

Today’s game times are 12 noon against the Pirates and 6 p.m. against the Expos and Sunday its 10 a.m. against the Pirates and 4 p.m. against the Expos.

Last year’s Cardinals finished 2-2 at Tier 1 provincials after going 22-14 in league play that included a 15-11 record in the playdowns.

The team’s new head coach is Brad Wolansky.

Rams lacrosse

Upcoming games for the St. Albert Rams in the Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council includes the following teams:

The midget female Rams (0-4) travel to Ponoka today to play Lacoka (1-1) at 4:30 p.m. and Monday’s contest against the Beaumont Raiders (2-1) is 8:45 p.m. at Go Auto Arena.

The peewee A Rams (0-2-1) host the Edmonton Blues (3-0) Monday at Go Auto Arena and Leduc Crush (1-1-1) Wedneday at Kinex Arena. Start times are 6 p.m.

Tuesday the midget B Rams (1-2) visit the Sherwood Park Titans (2-0) at 7 p.m. and Thursday’s match against the Parkland Posse (1-2) is 8:15 p.m. at Kinex Arena.

Thursday the bantam A Rams (1-0-1) and Edmonton Warriors (1-1) hook up at 6:30 p.m. at George S. Hughes Arena.

Impact matches

The outdoor season for the St. Albert Impact women’s teams in the Edmonton District Soccer Association starts this weekend at ESA Complex.

Today’s division 1A match between Impact 4, the 2018 Tier 1 provincial champion as the second place finisher in league play, and Wind kicks off at 2 p.m.

Sunday in the premier division, Impact 1 battles Xavier Academy at 11 a.m., Impact 3 tackles Angels Scottish SC 2 at 3 p.m. and Impact 2 is up against Victoria 2 at 5 p.m.

Impact 1 was last year’s runner-up in the premier table and silver medallist at provincials.

Storm football

The second half of the midget spring league season for the St. Albert Storm kicks off today in the Capital District Minor Football Association.

Game time against the Lloydminster Red Dawgs is 4:30 p.m. at Clarke Stadium.

Both teams are coming off mixed results against the River Battle Shock (3-1) in Lacombe. The Storm (2-1) lost 43-13 April 13 and the Red Dawgs (3-0) won 25-24 April 19.
