Match times are 4:45 p.m.

Female football

The first home game for the St. Albert Valkyries in the inaugural season of the female midget spring league in the Capital District Minor Football Association is Friday against the Wetaskiwin Warriors.

Kickoff is 8:15 p.m. at Larry Olexiuk Field.

The Valkyries are undefeated with victories of 20-19 against the West Edmonton Raiders in exhibition action and 43-0 against the Leduc Wildcats in the league opener.

Wetaskiwin is 1-1 after the 40-13 exhibition win against Leduc and 46-38 loss to the Raiders.

The six-on-six full contact league for Grade 9, 10 and 11 females features two 30-minute halfs of running time. The field is divided in half for two games at the same time and every offensive drive starts at the 45-yard line.
