Dedrick was honoured for his contributions to female basketball and sports in general.

The St. Albert Catholic High School teacher coached the Skyhawks to their seventh straight provincials and their fifth in a row as the Edmonton zone champions. They finished 32-12 this season after going 34-5 in 2009/10, highlighted by a 14-0 record as metro Edmonton premier champions.
