Jarome Iginla of St. Albert became the 77th player in NHL history to reach 1,000 points Friday in St. Louis.

His second goal of the game and third point of the night was a wrister from inside the right circle to finish off a breakaway with 5:03 to play in the Calgary Flames’ 3-2 comeback victory against the hometown Blues.

Iginla, 33, is the franchise leader in games played (1,104), goals (480) and points (1,001).

With two games left in the season, the Flames’ captain ranked seventh among NHL scorers with 81 points (39 goals, 42 assists). This is the 10th consecutive year he will lead the team in scoring.

The three-time Olympian is only the 10th NHL player to record 30 or more goals in 10 consecutive seasons. Among active players he owns the NHL’s longest streak of 20-plus goal seasons at 12.
