Montreal Canadiens winger Jonathan Drouin has undergone surgery for a "previously fractured nose," the club announced Wednesday.
The team added the procedure performed Tuesday was "minor" and that the 24-year-old is expected to resume off-season training in two to three weeks.
Drouin had 18 goals and 35 assists for 53 points in 81 games in 2018-19 for the Canadiens, who missed the playoffs by two points in the Eastern Conference.
Originally drafted third overall in 2013 by the Tampa Bay Lightning, the native of Ste-Agathe-des-Monts, Que., has 194 points (60 goals, 134 assists) in 322 career NHL games to go along with 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 23 playoff outings.
Drouin was acquired by Montreal from Tampa Bay for defenceman Mikhail Sergachev in June 2017 before signing a six-year, US$33-million contract with the Canadiens.
