QMJHL Roundup: Biakabutuka's OT winner halts Eagles' comeback effort in 4-3 win

CAPE BRETON — Jérémie Biakabutuka capped a two-goal night by scoring the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Charlottetown Islanders to a 4-3 win over the Cape Breton Eagles on Thursday.

After taking a 3-0 lead in the second, courtesy of Biakabutuka and Michael Horth, who also scored twice, it went downhill for Charlottetown (3-2-0).

Cam Squires made it 3-1, 15:53 into the second. Luke Patterson added another for the Eagles (0-2-2) just over five minutes into the third, before Samuel Johnson tied the game with 40 seconds left in regulation.

Biakabutuka halted the comeback effort 55 seconds into the extra period.

HALIFAX — Halifax scored four unanswered goals after being down 2-1 to defeat Drummondville (3-5-0). Markus Vidicek, Attilio Biasca, Jordan Dumais, James Swan and Braeden MacPhee all scored for Halifax (4-0-1).
