In loving memory of Gerald Benson, born on March 11, 1931, in Rouleau, Sask. aka Dog River. He peacefully passed away in St. Albert on his 93rd birthday, March 11, 2024.
Gerald was a devoted husband to Donna since their marriage on July 17, 1954. As the middle son among seven siblings, he stood as the last man standing.
Throughout his life, Gerald embarked on a fulfilling career path, serving as a CPR station agent and later owning Frontier Realty and a SGIO agency in Swift Current. His journey continued as a commercial realtor in Medicine Hat. Notably, Gerald found joy as the beloved Grampa school bus driver, a role he cherished until the age of 79.
Gerald is predeceased by his son Kelly Benson (Gaye, Nicole, and Kelli). He is survived by his devoted wife Donna Benson, and his loving children Audie Benson (Kathleen, Becky, and Beau), Kevin Benson (Tracy, Tiegan, Tori), Derek Benson (Sandra, Alyson, Olivia), and daughter Laurel MacPhail (John, Tatum, Brittany). Gerald leaves behind a legacy with 10 grandchildren and spouses, as well as 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral to celebrate Gerald's life will be held at Red Willow Church on March 22, 2024, at 2:00 pm, followed by refreshments. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love of family.
