BOUTETTE, Joyce EDIT

1934-2021

Our cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on October 31, 2021, in her 87th year. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Garnet (1975) and Mabel (2005) Tunks; beloved husband of 52 years, Leo (2004); brother, Dick (2019) (Elaine); sister, Betty (Charlie) (1960); and sisters-in-law Rita Lacasse (2012) (Yvon) (1980), and Claire Lacasse (1974) (Joe).

Joyce was the much-loved mother of Leo (Lynn), Fran (David), Gordon (Debbie), Rick (Sylvia), Garnet (Lori), Pat (Dennis), and Darren (Rebecca). She was the cherished grandmother of Tanya, Cassie, Melissa (Kris), Jonathon (Araedelle), Donovan (Angela), Catrina (Anthony), Jennifer (Kyle), Dustin, Kyle, Ariel, and Katie; and great-grandmother of Brooklin, Connor, Ava, Lukka, and Franky. She also leaves to mourn sisters-in-law, Noella Pike (Barry) and Annabelle Carr (Ron 2008); brother-in-law, Paul (Marion); as well as over 50 nieces and nephews and their families.

For years, Joyce presided as a loving matriarch over her growing family with wisdom and good humour. Sewing was her lifelong passion, and she was happy to share it, particularly with her grandchildren. She was an intelligent and observant woman who generally had an opinion on most subjects. She was a true storyteller, and we will all miss her feisty spirit, her smiling eyes, and her joie de vivre.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers from Homecare that helped her so much over the last few years of her life – thank you to Julie and Gail.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Lung & NWT, P.O. Box 4500, Station South, Edmonton, AB, T6E 6K2 or a charity of your choice.
