Brown, Trevor Victor

1934 – 2022

If you ever met Trevor and were asked how you would describe him, the answer you would get most often is “one of a kind”. Whether it was the way he could make you feel comfortable or his tremendous wit, you always walked away feeling special.

Trevor was born in Birmingham, England and made the difficult decision to leave his family at the age of 21 with $50 in his pocket to start his adventure in Canada.  After his arrival in Toronto, he realized he missed the sea, so he left for Vancouver. He only made it as far as Edmonton when his car broke down; what initially seemed like a stroke of bad luck turned out to be destiny because he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Heney. They would set up their home in St. Albert for close to 60 years. Trevor and Liz opened an upholstery business in 1961 and sold it in 1976. That business still bears his name today.

Trevor and Liz travelled extensively and spent many memorable summers with family and friends at Skeleton Lake.

Trevor leaves to mourn his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth; his children: Warren (Adele), Murray (Julie), Paul (Linda) and Leslie (Todd); as well as 11 adoring grandchildren: Andrea (Craig), Leah (Ryan), Matt (Lauren), Kate (Tedi), Hannah (Dean), Ryan (Stephanie), Allyson (Ty), Dylan (Pam), Bethany (Shane), Megan (Erik) and Adam (Kira). He also had 8 great grandchildren: Isla, Clara, Miles, Nicholas, Emilia, Norah, Rowan and Elliot.

Trevor is survived by his sisters Joan Shaw and Patricia Workman. He was predeceased by his father Victor, mother Maude and brother Ray.

Trevor, Dad, Grandpa, we miss you already. You were one of a kind.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Connelly-Mckinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

Liz and the Brown family would like to thank the caring staff at River Ridge for their love and support over the past 5 years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Trevor’s memory to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation or to another charity of your choice.
