1936 – 2022

Mrs. Ruth Irene Friesen, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on Wednesday January 26th, 2022. She was born on July 16th, 1936 in Smeaton, Saskatchewan, the 12th of 13 children. After growing up on the Prairies, Ruth enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force, where she had many roles and was most proud to serve as a Radar Fighter Cop on Canada's Pinetree Line. She later worked for Canada Post and the Public Service Alliance of Canada.

After retirement, Ruth's gregarious nature and wanderlust for a "right uptown" place to be took her and Gerry to Mexico, California, and Smeaton Saskatchewan, in addition to excursions to Barbados, Panama, and New Orleans with her adored little sister, Marilyn. Most of all, Ruth loved visiting her children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and other extended family as she and Gerry toured the country on their continual roadtrip.

She will be fondly remembered by her two children, Dwain (Geraldine) Friesen and Judy Friesen; five grandchildren, Amanda (Luke) Jorgenson, Jerell Friesen, Dillon Friesen (Laurie), James Lague, and Geremy (Ellen) Lague; three great granddaughters, Rory, Adalynn, and Amelia; beloved sister Marilyn Rodgers; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband Gerald, her parents Mildred and Herbert Falloon, six brothers and five sisters.

A service is planned to be held in Medicine Hat, Alberta in Spring 2022.
