1940 - 2024
James “Jim” Galenza passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in St. Albert, AB at the age of 83 years.
Jim was born in 1940 in Camrose, AB. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Dyan, who passed away in Victoria, B.C. in 2020. He is also predeceased by his father Albert; mother, Victoria; and brother, Reginald.
Jim met Dyan in Hay River, NWT and they married at Hay Lakes, AB in 1963.
Together they raised two loving sons, Bradley (Gloria) and Kevin (Janine).
Jim enjoyed a successful career with the Royal Bank. He started in the banking industry in 1959 in Cochrane, AB. He worked at various locations throughout Alberta and the NWT before retiring in 1994 from Red Deer, AB.
Following Dyan’s passing, Jim returned to Alberta from Victoria in 2021. He has resided in St. Albert, AB ever since.
Jim is survived by his siblings: Lynne (Richard), Deborah (Gordon), and Dale (Brenda). He is also survived by Dyan’s sister, Gretchen; brothers: Norman (Julia) and Emmet (Terri). In addition, he is survived by nephews, nieces, grand nieces, grand nephews, and many friends.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11:00AM on Thursday March 7th, 2024, in St. Albert Catholic Church, 7 St. Vital Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Insititute, or the Sturgeon Hospital Foundation.
