Lloyd David Hartt Obituary Picture

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd David Hartt, age 78, a resident of St. Albert, formerly from Saint John, New Brunswick where he grew up, passed away February 16, 2022. David is survived by his wife Paula Hartt, his children Kimberly (Greg), Troy (Michelle) and Ryan (Michelle) and his brother Brian (Bonnie). David also has 7 grandchildren who love and adore him.

David was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on August 19th, 1943. David was a Graduate from Saint John High School in 1961. He worked with his father at Hartt Lumber after a couple years of post secondary at UNB.

David married his high school sweetheart Paula Marie Hartt on August 15th, 1970. He moved out west to St. Albert, Alberta in 1974 and worked in the Building Materials business in sales for 30 years.

David was a devoted husband and father always being involved in his children’s sports while being active himself in many sports. He played tennis and enjoyed sailing, water skiing, ice skating and was an avid hockey and football fan for the Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Eskimos. He was regimented in his daily exercise program and was a great example for his family. He drove his kids everywhere for all of their activities. He loved reading and watching movies especially westerns and war stories. He was a choir boy growing up in his church who continued to love singing throughout the years at church and with his family. A few of his favorite songs to sing with his family were “You are my Sunshine”, “Oh my Darling”, and “Jesus Loves Me”.

David was known for always being positive, kind and encouraging. Every meal Paula made was “excellent” and every family fun event was a “corker”. He was fun and child-like in his play with his grandchildren, willing to play any game whether hide and seek, beanbag toss or puzzles. He loved to laugh and make others laugh with his witty humor. David brought sunshine everywhere he went and will be greatly missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
