In July of 2021 I was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer that had spread to my liver.  Although the Cancer has been a burden on myself and those around me and my support group, interestingly enough, it has introduced new thinking into my life.  In particular, it has given me a sense of appreciation and gratitude that I may not have otherwise experienced.  It pleases me more than I can say that I leave behind a wonderful family with great pride in my heart.  Lane, Erin and Reid have all turned out to be the good people that I hoped they would be. And it pleases me even more that the children they are raising will also turn out to be the very best of people.  This is my legacy.  And most of all I have the deepest gratitude and thankfulness for the support and caregiving to me by my wonderful wife of 50 years, Wendolyn.  I am not afraid of dying but I am sad that I will miss all those things that will happen in my family in the next ten years and beyond.  I have loved them all and know that they have loved me and there can be no greater gift.  I will see you on the other side if there is one.  If not my blessing on you all and enjoy the fruits of your life.
