1927 – 2020
George Henry Kluthe passed away peacefully on December 21, 2020 at the Youville Home in St. Albert, Alberta.
George is lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Alice; children: Irwin (Marian), Rebecca (Mark), Cathy (Mark) and Karen; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Roberta (Wayne Straub). He is also survived by his older sister, Bernice McDonnell and brother, Rodney (Marlene).
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Clara Kluthe; son, Darrell in 2000; brothers: Joe (Dorothy), Ben (Bilda), Johnny; sister, Eileen (John Kaup), (Harold Cassidy) and brother-in-law, John McDonnell.
George was born June 26, 1927 in St. Albert, AB.
George will always be remembered for his mischievous sense of humor, his devotion and love for his family, and his strong work ethic farming at a very young age and later as a licensed mechanic. George and Alice enjoyed driving and exploring Canada together in their retirement years. During his leisure time he enjoyed tinkering in his shop, curling, watching hockey and was rarely seen without his beloved Toronto Blue Jays hat.
A Catholic service will be held in the summer.
