It is with great sadness we announce that Lorraine Elmina MacDonald (Dusseault) passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at the age of 85 at the Sturgeon Community Hospital, in St. Albert, AB. with her family at her side.

Lorraine was born on April 30, 1935 to Raymond and Alice (Demers) Dusseault. She grew up on the family farm west of Girouxville, AB. She married early in life and for many years cared for her children and stepchildren. As they grew up, she started working with Transport Canada and later with Health Canada working in Human Resources with nurse practitioners who worked on First Nations Reserves.

She leaves to mourn four siblings: Gerald Dusseault, Suzanne Houle, Louise (Raoul) Johnson and Irene (Colin) Scott; three children: Diane (Marco) Gervais, Marcel Servant and Vivianne Servant (Roger Blouin); six stepchildren: Laurent Berube (Inna), Sylvianne Standing, Raymond Berube (Debbie), Germaine (Rod) Matheson, Hector Berube and Alain Berube; seven grandchildren: Sherry-Lee, Christine (Roger), Amanda (Chris), Nicole (Donald), Danielle, Shannon (Tony) and Michael (Kaden); fifteen great-grandchildren: Sam (Cheyenne), Haley, Chloe, Randy (Melanie), Daniel, Stephanie (Devon), Nathalie (James), Olivia, Zachary, Elizabeth, Isaac, Baron, Jamie, Maxwell and Norah and five great-great-grandchildren.

Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Alice Dusseault; husband, Mark MacDonald; siblings: Roger Dusseault, Marilyn Dusseault, Daniel Dusseault and Carmen (Paul) Thibault; brother-in-law, Raymond Houle and sister-in-law, Sylvianne Dusseault.

The family home, affectionately called the MacDonald hotel operated for many years, welcoming and offering wonderful hospitality and generosity to any family members traveling to Edmonton or needing a place to stay.

Lorraine’s lived a full and sometimes difficult life with ultimate grace and love and was devoted to her family. We will all miss her so very much.
