With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Elizabeth Ann Melnychuk on June 27, 2023, in St. Albert, AB.

 

Ann was born in June of 1940, in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. She spent her childhood in Glace Bay, and Galt, Ontario before moving to Edmonton, Alberta in 1957.

 

Ann is lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Nick Melnychuk; and daughters: Linda (John), Cindy (Derek), Gail, Leesa (Dave), Tracey (Tom), Debbie; along with grandchildren: Brandi-Lynn, Nathaniel, David, Steven, David, Noah, Austin, Sam, Ruby, Cassandra, Caitlin, and their partners; as well as great-grandchildren: Kaelyn, Emma, Ella, Maisie, Arianna, Cianna, Rylin, Johanna, Hannah, Bennett; brothers Bryan and Glenn; and sister Sharon; extended family and numerous friends. 

 

Ann was predeceased by her parents: Ben and Johanna; and siblings: Pat, Johnny, Lorraine, Mary; and great-grandchildren: Taylor and Kaiden.

 

Ann will be remembered for her love of playing cards, country music, camping and fishing, family gatherings, and her beloved Elvis collection. 

 

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13 between the hours of 6:00-8:00 pm at St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive.  A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, July 14 at 10:00 am at St. Albert Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14611 Mark Messier Trail NW.

 

In lieu of flowers we request that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta or the Alberta Kidney Foundation.

 

The family sends sincere thanks to the medical staff at the Sturgeon Hospital in St. Albert with a special thanks to those working in Units 19 and 15.
