August 4th, 1927 - October 6, 2023
The family of Bertha Ellen Newell long term resident of Morinville, Alberta, wishes to acknowledge her peaceful passing October 6, 2023 at the home of her son in Prince George, B.C. She was predeceased by her parents (Alfred and Alice Wright, her husband Louis Thomas, daughter Shannon (Sherry) Colleen, her daughter-in-law Nada Newell, her three sisters and brother. She leaves to mourn her son Thomas (Tom), daughter Kathleen (Kathy) (Rick), son-in-law Dennis, sister Francis (Alvin). Also six grandchildren, and elven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Born in Lethbridge she said her fairytale life started July 7th, 1945 when she married her "Lou" when she was 17 and a lasting romance that continued in her mind to the day she rejoined her love. Together they toured the world active in their commitment to Lions International and ever faithful to their beliefs as members of the Namao United Church. She enjoyed her time with her children and grandchildren made so evident on her last family birthday.
A service held in the Namao United will be announced for a date in early Spring 2024 followed by a grave side service as we lay her ashes with her late husband.
