PATTERSON, Doreen recent

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved friend and aunt, Doreen on March 2, 2022, at the age of 87.

Doreen was predeceased by her devoted and loving husband, John and her much loved sister, Janet and brother Bob.

Doreen was born in Birmingham, England in 1934 and immigrated to Canada in 1959. It was in Canada that she met her late husband John who was from Scotland, and they had a wonderful life together for many years in both Calgary and St. Albert.

Doreen was a successful, strong and independently minded woman, but was also very generous and kind. She was a big supporter of various charities, and she would prefer any donations in lieu of flowers to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alberta Cancer Foundation or Alzheimer Society of Alberta and NWT.

Doreen touched many who crossed her path and will always be remembered by her many friends in Canada and family back in England.

Cremation has already taken place.  A Committal Service will be held at the Holy Cross Mausoleum, 14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton, on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 11.00 am.

Special thanks to staff of supported living at Shepherd’s Care Kensington Village for 15 years of compassionate and loving care, and to care givers at Alberta Home Services for making her life in the Condo happy and enjoyable. Finally, thanks to the care-giving staff at Capital Care Dickinsfield Extended Care Home for keeping her comfortable during her final days.
