1942 ~ 2023
The family of Robert Wallace (Bob) Rae announce his passing June 19, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Sinclair) of 58 years; older daughter Kathryn, and her husband Trevor Meister, and their sons Matthew, Joshua, and Zachary; younger daughter Susan Rae; brother Doug, his wife Lorna and their family; sister Merridel Rae; many cousins and their families; and his good friend Murray Lambert.
Bob was predeceased by his parents: Samuel Robert ‘Bob’ Rae and Mary Simpson (nee Colwell) Rae, and granddaughter Kassandra Rae Ann.
He was born in Lethbridge, AB, then they moved to Medicine Hat where he grew up in an extended family.
Bob taught for Edmonton Public School Board for 39 years. During this time, he served as president of the ATA EPSB local and Vice President of ATA Provincial.
Bob inherited his love of gardening from his mother and enjoyed sharing the produce he grew. Bob also relished his time with the Edmonton Tumblewood Club. He shared the rock & gem pieces he created as gifts for loved ones.
Cremation has taken place and Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 2:00 pm in St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta and NWT, 10430 61 Ave NW #306, Edmonton, AB T6H 2J3, or MS Society, 9405 50 St NW #150, Edmonton, AB T6B 2T4, or to a charity of one’s choice.
